Passion for Flight

I have always had a passion for aviation since I was a small boy reading Dan Dare and attending air shows in the ’60s. I joined the Royal Air Force as an Engineering Officer in ’72 and spent 20 years close and personal with aircraft and flying. I am a qualified private pilot and have a CAA permit to fly drones commercially, I have had the opportunity to fly in numerous fast jet aircraft including Lightning, Hunter, Harrier, Jaguar and Tornado.

I have recently completed a long term project capturing images of 31 Sqn, when it was a Tornado GR4 squadron based at RAF Marham in Norfolk, prior to disbandment. The project culminated in October 2015, it’s 100th birthday, with a photo essay of the modern day squadron at work.

I am also carrying out a long term project to capture images “through a window”; the majority of this work is actually through aircraft windows as I watch the earth slip beneath my feet.
